One of the last 580 MGB GT’s produced at Abington, a limited edition model and one of the only metallic silver MGB GT models ever produced. Actually the colour is a little darker than silver and was officially known as Pewter. As well as being a unique colour it also has special LE alloy wheels and is complete with the deep front spoiler. The interior is new throughout in black deluxe carpet, new door and side trims, seats are black with grey deckchair facings. Retractable seat belts are fitted and overall the interior is in excellent condition. This car has had a total bare metal restoration and was re-sprayed in authentic colour by the MGOC and has only covered less than 2000 miles since restoration. Every part has been replaced with new or reconditioned items as per summary following.
Bodywork.
Full restoration, all glass removed, main items are new sills (inner, centre
& outer), front wings, rear wheel arches and new doors.
All cavities have been waxoyled.
Engine and Exhaust.
Reconditioned engine with un-leaded head fitted with sports stainless steel
manifold and exhaust.
Transmission.
New clutch assembly, reconditioned gear box, reconditioned over-drive unit,
reconditioned prop shaft and rear axle.
Steering and Front and Rear Suspension.
Rebuilt front suspension cross member. All new parts incl. springs, spring
pans, hydraulic dampers, swivel pins etc. etc.
New rear springs and reconditioned rear shock absorbers.
Brake System.
New copper brake pipes and hoses. New front discs callipers & pads, reconditioned
rear brakes and shoes and reconditioned brake servo.
Fuel System.
New fuel pipes and electronic fuel pump.
Electrics and Ignition.
New wiring looms throughout and fitted Lumenition Opronic Ignition system.
